Course Title: Student Classroom Aide Grade Level: 10-12
Duration: 1 or 2 Semesters Prerequisite: Instructor's Permission & No Failing Grades
  Credits: 3

This course is designed for students who are interested in receiving credit by working for an instructor in the high school or elementary, the main office or the guidance office performing a variety of duties depending on the specific area in which they aide.Students must have passed ALL of their classes the previous semester. Students will need to acquire permission from the instructor and fill out an application form in order to be considered. Student aides will receive a pass/fail grade each grading period and 3 credits per semester.

 

Course Title: Independent Studies Grade Level: 10-12
Duration: 1 or 2 Semesters Prerequisite: Instructor's Permission
  Credits: 5

Prior to starting this class, the student desiring an independent study program in any subject area must meet with the instructor who will be sponsoring him/her. Together they must work out the details of what will be studied. A course outline must then be submitted to the principal for final approval. (Note: This is intended for advanced studies which go beyond the courses offered and is NOT to be a substitute for required courses.)

Students may take no more than one independent study course per semester. Course #s are as follows: Agriculture-130, Art-216, Business-148, Computer-312, English-426, Foreign Language-512, Home Economics-166, Industrial Technology-188, Math-328, Music-614, Physical Education-712, Science-820, and Social Studies-914.

 

Course Title: Driver Education Grade Level: 9 - 12
Duration: 2 Semester/Summer Prerequisite: 14 years of age
  Credits: 5
*DOES NOT COUNT TOWARD & REQUIRED CLASSES PER SEMESTER.

This course is designed to give students an understanding of the skills and attitudes necessary to become a safe and competent driver. The course includes thorough classroom study as well as actual behind -the-wheel experience in driver training instruction. A tuition fee, the amount to be determined by the Gothenburg Board of Education, will be assessed. Fee-$120.00.
